What makes planning a school event different from planning a private event? Limelight Entertainment’s owner, Chris, works with each customer to plan every single event, and, over the course of his years in the business, he has come to understand that schools have a level of accountability that is not found in any private event. If a parent wants to host a child’s sweet sixteen party and have songs with explicit lyrics, it is a personal choice and the guests can simply leave if they feel uncomfortable. Schools, on the other hand, are not creating events for a single person, and they cannot simply expect their guests to leave if they are uncomfortable. Instead, they must strive to ensure that all of their students enjoy the party experience.
Chris begins his school event planning with a specific play list. He ensures that all of the music he brings into a school is clean, with no profanity, and also without the objectionable lyrics that some songs have, which might not be profane, but could make parents uncomfortable with a music selection. Yet, he still keeps his lists current, to keep up with the constantly changing interests of tweens and teens. He will also work with the school to help create a playlist for the kinds of dances the school feels are party-appropriate. A prom needs to feature some music for slow dancing, while a school-wide pep rally is going to have an entirely different feel to it and require different music. If working a project graduation or other type of after-party, you may be interested in entertainment that goes beyond DJ services.
