Engagement Photography at Belmar Beach

You have to see this gorgeous engagement shoot by our very talented Marissa Lambert of Limelight Entertainment! When we met with Michelle + Gerard for the very first time, you could see the instant connection between them and Marissa. That is what we strive for when meeting our couples for the very first time. We want that connection between photographer and client because that is what gives our couples the best experience.

For weeks leading up to Michelle and Gerard’s engagement session Marissa and Michelle went back and forth with ideas. Michelle was sending her ideas and inspiration and Marissa would give her professional opinion as well as suggestions. It was absolutely clear that they had the same vision for the shoot.

Michelle and Gerard were up for anything. They got down in the sand (steamy!) and walked right into the water. We LOVE couples that are willing to do anything for the shot and see the same vision that we do!

Here is a little background on Michelle and Gerard’s romance:

  • Gerard and I actually met on eHarmony! Our connection was electric from the very first date, and now we’re waiting for them to call us to do the next commercial. :::Cue the song “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole right NOW!:::
  • Gerard proposed to me at the beach in Pier Village, right before a dinner date at one of our favorite restaurants. We were staring at the ocean (our favorite kind of scenery), when he turned our bodies toward one another, professed his love, and got down on one knee. He laughs now since he couldn’t even put the ring on me right away, because my head was burrowed in his shoulder, with tears of happiness.
  • Well, we typically reserve the term “date” for when we dress up and go out for a nice dinner & evening out (…and to this day, Gerard always surprises me on where we’re going for our dates!). Ultimately, though, we make for quite the active, adventurous, nature/water-loving couple! We work out together, we LOVE the beach, we canoe and kayak for miles at a time, we rappel waterfalls…you know, nothing too unusual. Oh, and when the day is followed by a nice cheese plate and glass of Malbec – that’s pure bliss.

Michelle and Gerard are getting married this December at the Gramercy Lakeside Manor and when asked what they are most looking forward to about their wedding day, Michelle’s response is:

  • Saying “I do!” Of course, we’re looking forward to basking in the glory of a beautiful wedding day, seeing every charming detail come together, as we’re surrounded by loving family and friends – but most of all, we can’t wait to marry one another and start our lives together as husband and wife!

  • The beach was a no-brainer for us! Gerard really should have been born with fins because he adores the ocean. While he loves to swim, his passion is surfing [I stick to bodyboarding!]. Then, I, myself, am such a nature-lover; at the beach, I love listening to the crashing waves, smelling the salt air, and feeling the sand beneath my toes. As a couple, we tend to spend A LOT of time at the beach year-round, whether, we’re relaxing in the sun, playing in the sea, or walking in the sand. For our engagement shoot, we chose Belmar, specifically, for some of their cool features- like the fishing pier and the jetties – which we thought would be a charming, raw backdrop for some fun-filled photos!

  • I’m actually wearing the dress that I wore on our first date. Throughout our relationship, Gerard would mention “…and seeing you walk around the corner for the first time in that blue sundress.” Sentimental, right?

We Can't Wait to Hear From You.
