Are you looking to skip the more modern wedding tradition and forego a first look? We want to make sure we can honor your desire to see one another at the end of the aisle while also capturing every moment, memory, and person you are daydreaming about. We also want to ensure the best possible flow for your wedding day while creating a relaxed and stress-free atmosphere for you and your wedding party. This example will focus on a 9-hour on-site ceremony without a first look. This timeline also reflects a maximum of 20-25 minutes of travel for each side of the wedding party.
Before the ceremony, we suggest scheduling separate photo sessions for each spouse with their respective families and wedding parties. By doing so, we can capture as many photos as possible without compromising your desire to NOT see one another before walking down the aisle.
After the ceremony, we will focus on capturing you and your partner with each side of the family and your entire wedding party. Planning these photos in advance is essential so everyone involved knows where they need to be and when. We always recommend emphasizing to your wedding party and family members that they should refrain from attending the cocktail hour until these photos are completed. We always aim to have these photos done immediately after the ceremony ends and before the family and wedding party start to roam around the venue. We love getting these accomplished quickly and sending them off to grab a drink!!
Once the group photos are completed, we will shift focus to capturing your romantic portraits together. We recommend scheduling an engagement session with us before the big day to make picture-taking a smooth and efficient process. This will allow us to capture your photos quickly while maintaining an organic and natural portrayal of your love for one another.
We, of course, want you to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests and will aim to finish your couple’s portraits approximately 15 minutes before cocktail hour finishes. Depending on your order of events, extending the cocktail hour by 30 minutes may benefit you. This will allow you to attend and greet your guests without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Plus, you will get to snack on all the yummy food!! Who doesn’t love cocktail hour!?!?
