Winter Wedding Inspirations

NJ Winter Wedding

In this blog, we show you two different winter weddings and the beautiful details each couple chose for their winter theme.

Mara + Billy

Winter weddings are gorgeous! The romantic snowfall, the wintery sunsets, and the cozy details are just a couple of fun thoughts to think about when planning for your winter wedding! Mara and Billy got married on December 21, with snowfall on the ground and gorgeous pops of deep red in their details. Deb Ross of Peonies to Paint Chips designed a big beautiful bridal bouquet for Mara. The arrangement of berries and flowers had gorgeous greenery with blush, ivory, and red florals. It looked absolutely stunning, contrasting with her Mon Cheri Bridal wedding gown. Mara wore her hair down in big waves and had a gorgeous long veil, as well as a diamond tiara on top of her head – looking like a real snowy queen. We captured some beautiful portraits of Mara and Billy with the wintery sunset right behind them. We always find that glimmer of sunlight or that perfect even light to do your wedding portraits in. So regardless if there is snow, rain, or whatever mother-nature throws in our direction – we have your wedding photography covered!

Winter weddings do take some additional planning simply because of the sunset time. The hard part about a winter timeline is the fact that the sun sets around 4pm. This means that all of your portraits have to be done before then! This isn’t a problem if you’re having a late afternoon wedding and are planning a first look. However, if you’re planning on having a late evening wedding, you may have a bit of downtime from 4pm until the start of the ceremony. We highly recommend a first look in this case.

Samantha + Ryan

It might be chilly outside, but the love our couples have for one another, and their loved ones make the wintery weather feel so warm and toasty. It’s always a beautiful wintery day when we are celebrating love with our couples!! Samantha and Ryan wed on November 23, the skies were clear, and the temperature was low.

Samantha and Ryan had their florals designed by Sayrewoods Florist. Samantha went with a very big, bold, deep red look for her bouquet. She used extra eucalyptus for a whimsical and wintery feel. The green complemented the winter look. Her bridesmaids had similar smaller bouquets, that really stood out against their deep red floor length dresses. They used thes splashes of deep red florals throughout their wedding decorations to tie everything together. It was absolutely gorgeous and had such a cozy feel. We had enough light outside to get a couple of romantic cuddly just married portraits with the red and green lights along the buildings in the background! Having so little light and early sunset limits natural light portraits, but that did not stop us from capturing gorgeous portraits of Samantha and Ryan inside The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel
