Wedding Photography: 10 – 12 Hour Timeline

We want your social day to be your best day ever! In this timeline example, we plan 10-12 hours of photography coverage for a wedding with an off-site ceremony. Are you planning a wedding with an off-site ceremony at a church, temple, beach, or another location other than your reception space, and plan to include a break between the ceremony and cocktail hour for photos? This is the timeline you will want to consider.

Ultimately, we want you to have a smooth and calm start to your day, so make sure you get ready at a location near your church or ceremony location. This helps to minimize any potential stress caused by traffic or long commutes to the ceremony space. By keeping yourself nearby, you can easily transition from getting ready to arriving at your ceremony site (on time!!).

After your ceremony concludes and you are pronounced married, we will wait for your ceremony space to clear and begin your family portraits. We recommend getting these done at this time since, most likely, all of your immediate family is in attendance from watching your nuptials. And don’t worry; we will build you the perfect family photo list in advance of your day. You’ll be able to check through it, provide feedback, and make edits and adjustments until it is perfect for you.

Once we complete your family formal list of photos, we will all head off to a picturesque photo location at or near your reception venue. Keeping this location nearby means less travel and traffic and more time for those cherished moments with each other.

It’s finally time for reception. We know a 10-12 hour day seems long. However, you’ll want to plan for this in order to photograph every unforgettable moment of your wedding. Throughout your reception, your photography team will be there to capture your introductions, special dances, toasts, cake cutting, and candid dance floor action. By working with us, you can make certain your love story will be told with beautiful imagery and that no moment is missed.

At Limelight, we always aim to capture all of the photos you dream of. We love to tell your wedding story from your getting ready moments up until your cake cutting at the reception. So, to make this happen, we highly suggest you plan for plenty of additional time between the ceremony and the start of your cocktail hour. Leaving approximately 2 hours between the end of your ceremony and the beginning of your cocktail hour for photos will fit everything in nicely. This includes your family portraits, wedding party pictures, romantic couple’s portraits, and, of course, your travel time. But we are here for you every step of the way and will build the perfect timeline side by side with you. If you ever have any questions, never hesitate to reach out.

We Can't Wait to Hear From You.
