Margaret and Will chose to have their engagement photography session at Deep Cut Gardens. This gorgeous 54-acre garden is filled with nooks and crannies of greenery and trails that are the perfect location for engagement photos. Margaret and Will are such sweethearts, and so very loving, so we were very excited to capture their relationship and this special time!
Margaret and Will looked amazing!! We LOVED the outfits they chose to wear. Margaret had on a super pretty long strappy summer dress with a fun print. Will wore a classic white button-down shirt with dress pants. They both complimented one another perfectly.
- How did you both meet?
“The story of how we met is one of those unexpected moments in life. Suddenly, when you weren’t looking for it, The most perfect person comes in and sweeps you off your feet. Let me start by telling you I don’t do blind dates. This is something I had never done before and I thought for sure it would be the last one. And boy was I right, it was the last first blind date I would ever have. We met casually at a bar in New Brunswick and our old mutual friend who introduced us had shown me a picture of a different guy who is also named Will. So I’m pretty sure we walked by each other 4 to 5 times without even realizing who the other was. I know I was nervous and I was babbling. I am animated with my hands and so I knocked his beer to the floor, which got everywhere. I was so embarrassed and proceeded to apologize about 70 times and forcibly buy him another beer. It was the cutest thing, as he used that opportunity to kiss me and I don’t think I’ve ever smiled so hard before. He’s been making me smile every day since.”
- How did your fiancé propose?
“We went on vacation to California and spent time in San Francisco and San Diego visiting his best friend. We rented a car and took the scenic drive from San Fran to San Diego first thing in the morning. It’s funny because I had thought if he was to propose it would have been early on in our vacation. But 4 days in and at 7:30 In the morning just having my first cup of coffee looking like a crazy person, he had a beautiful beach he wanted me to see. We stopped at Half Moon Bay Beach and walked down the cliff to a quiet deserted beach that still had morning fog and people quietly riding horses by. I walked over to the water and he lagged behind. I thought he was taking some photos. He called my name and I turned around and he was on one knee with a gorgeous ring in his hand and said “Maggie, my heart, will you marry me?” Cue in the waterworks, screams, and the constant “oh my God!” Haha!”
- What is your favorite thing about your significant other?
“The things I love about Will are endless. I know that sounds cheesy, but I do find new things every day that I love and I appreciate about him. I feel like we come from the same mold and we have passions for a lot of the same things. And that is not even because we grew up with the same type of family and our dads knew each other and worked together (I know, small world ). It’s because I know how important his family and friends are to him. He would bend over backward to help anyone he loves. He has the biggest heart I’ve ever seen in another person. I have grown so much from being around him. In almost 7 years together, I have watched him challenge himself to better his health, be by his mom and his family’s side through her entire battle with cancer, and Grow with new opportunities in his career. He keeps me grounded, he calms me, and he uplifts me and pushes me to challenge myself. He believes in me and supports me. We have been through the most challenging and difficult times and the happiest of times. I knew I always had somebody there to talk to, to vent to, and someone to just hold me when I needed it. I couldn’t ask for a better man in my life, A better papa for our kitties, or a better man call my future husband. I cannot wait to have many more adventures with a man who will always keep me on my toes for the rest of my life. I will love him endlessly.”
