Casey and Stephen had their engagement photography at Cheesequake Park with a second stop at the Old Bridge Ice Arena.

The duo incorporated their love for ice hockey into their engagement photos. The two met while playing for the same hockey organization growing up. “In the fall of 2017, Stephen reached out to me because they needed more players for a men’s league team. I jumped on the opportunity because it was a team close to home instead of close to work where I had been playing. In December, we went on our first date a few weeks later and have been together ever since!” – Casey shared.

What are you two most excited about for your wedding day?

“We are so excited to be surrounded by the most important people in our lives and just have a blast. We want to sing and dance the night away and start the next chapter of our lives off right.”

“My favorite thing about Casey is her caring nature. She’s the first person to comfort me during difficult times and is there to make sure I know that I’m loved and things are going to be ok. Casey makes me the best me I can be. When we first got together on that December day 4 years ago to where we are now is night and day. I was a pizza delivery driver with no real-life aspirations. She stuck with me through graduating college, an internship in another state, and starting a new career while inspiring me and lifting me up the whole way. I also love that she does all the laundry because if she didn’t I would be wearing shrunken clothes every day.” – Stephen talked about Casey

“Stephen had been planning his proposal for about two months. His mom, sister, and my parents were all in on the operation. Stephen did ask my dad and brother’s permission which I thought was so sweet. We got engaged on August 20, 2021. I was working two straight weeks of hockey summer camps, which were extra stressful due to COVID regulations. I came home the last Friday and opened the apartment door and it was pitch black and our dog, Blue, was at the door as always. For some reason, the dark apartment freaked me out so I closed the door and stood in the hallway for a second. When I came back inside, I finally saw what Stephen had set up. “Lover” by Taylor Swift started playing. and the hallway was lined with tea lights and rose petals and at the end were light-up letters spelling out MARRY ME. On the door behind the lights were fairy lights with so many pictures of the two of us throughout the years. The bedroom door was closed so I opened it to find Stephen on one knee, ring in hand. I was so excited I just kept screaming and saying “are you kidding me are you kidding me!” I love my ring so much, the center diamond is one that was originally his great-grandmothers, grandmothers, and now mine. Stephen told me we were going to go back home to see my parents, then his parents, and then go to dinner down the shore. I got dressed and we drove up to my parents. Stephen told me my dad knew, but my mom didn’t so we were going to go right to the backyard and surprise her. Turns out, the entire backyard was set up for a small engagement party for both our families. Everyone got off work early and was there to celebrate with us. It was a perfect day.”

“My favorite thing about Stephen is how he shows how much he loves me. He is always quick to help me find solutions or let me vent or get me flowers or something else to cheer me up when I am down. He makes me laugh every day. When we first got together, my parents called us the “giggle twins” because we just would not stop. He always makes sure that “I love you” is the last thing we say to each other before we go to sleep or leave the apartment. Stephen cares so much about everyone he loves, he wants them to be happy at all times and will even sacrifice his own happiness to make sure that happens. I also love that he loves to cook because if he didn’t, we would be in big trouble.”  – Casey gushed about Stephen
