Allaire State Park Engagement Photos

Helene and Rob had the most beautiful light the night of their engagement photos at Allaire State Park. We talked about their upcoming wedding at the English Manor, and Helene was a bundle of excitement.

Believe it or not, Helene and Rob met at a wedding!

• How did you and your fiancé meet?

“I was friendly with his sister, and she was getting married and asked me to do her makeup as I am a certified makeup artist. Of course, I said yes! So the morning of I arrive at her parent’s house, and she introduces me to her family, and there he was- done deal.”

• How did your fiancé propose?

“It was the weekend after my birthday, and we were having a small party with just family- boy was I wrong! It was a “reverse surprise party”! I was already there, and people kept showing up saying surprise! Before I knew it, the house was filled, and I just thought ‘What a way to turn 25!’ My mom put together a slideshow of me over the past 25 years and played it for everyone. I had to sit in the middle of the room watching this slideshow, still oblivious to what the real intention was. The last segment of the slideshow was photos of Rob and I. The final photo was Rob down on one knee with his hands lifted in the air like he was holding something. Then it clicked when I noticed him walking from the side towards me. After shouting, “Oh my God!” And lots of happy tears I said yes! We didn’t even have to call anyone to share the good news- they were already there!”

When asked what they are most excited about, they say the English Manor’s food (me too!), seeing each other for the first time during their ceremony, and celebrating with family and friends.
