Brittany + Matt Engagement Photography at Spring Lake Beach, NJ

Brittany and Matt’s engagement photography took place on a beautiful morning at Spring Lake Beach. I was thrilled to be photographing my cousins engagement photos! Brittany and Matt are so sweet and such a cute couple. Their wardrobe choices were very cute and comfortable. Brittany wore a maxi dress/romper that had flowy sleeves and Matt wore a polo button down with khaki shorts and boat shoes. They looked great!

They met at Montclair State University their freshman year, but it was not until sophomore year when they really got to know one another. Then in November of 2008 they officially started dating! Brittany and Matt could not stop smiling and giggling with each other, it was so fun to get to photograph their love.

How did your fiancé propose?

“We were about to head to dinner with Matts parents when my sister Ashley and niece Bertie wanted to FaceTime us to show us a painting she had been working on. I was sitting on the couch saying hi to them and finally asked Bertie to show me what it looked like. Matt sitting next to me said “Yeah Bertie what does it say?” I thought that was weird that the painting would have said something as Bertie is only 2.5 years old she isn’t writing words just yet. They pan the camera to the painting and it reads “Princess Beeb will you marry Prince Matt?” Matt then slid off the couch onto his knee and I was in complete shock. It’s been a long time coming but I was just not expecting it at that moment so it caught me so off guard I only remember saying “Shut up, Duh and Can I have it?” in response to Matt’s question of will you marry me? We then walked to the restaurant around the corner from us where about 35-40 of our closest family and friends were waiting to surprise me! “

What a beautiful and surprising proposal Matt planned out for Brittany! As we walked around Spring Lake, the sun was hitting just the right spots between the trees as we discovered really nice locations for them to be photographed.

Brittany and Matt are so lovey with one another, my heart filled with such love watching these two interact with each other. Between shots we chatted about the wedding day!

What is something that the two of you are most excited about for your special day?

“We will probably never leave the dance floor. Our wedding band is Brian Kirk & The Jirks. They’ve played a couple of our friends weddings and we danced for probably 4 hours straight at their receptions. So that is where you will find us in the middle of the dance floor having a dance off with each other most likely!”
