Martha and Angel’s wedding day began at the loft at Jack’s Barn as they both got ready for their first look. The bridal suite and groom’s suite were in the loft of the barn and were adorned in vintage everything. The rooms were so unique! It was literally a photographer’s paradise. All of the antiques are hand selected by Jack’s owners Darren and Chris.
Jack’s barn is an almost brand new venue recently featured in theKnot as one of the top most beautiful barn wedding venues in New Jersey. It sits on a beautiful four acres of land and is rustic and super charming.
As I was shooting bridal prep and details I came to find out that Martha not only had one stunningly gorgeous wedding dress, but also had a second dress she later changed into for dancing. Her first wedding gown was a Hayley Paige design that she found at Kleinfeld Bridal. There are not enough words in the English language to describe how unbelievably gorgeous this dress was.
This wedding had an endless list of DIY projects and details that all meant something to them. Martha and Angel found ways to make every little detail become a personal touch or nod to them as a couple or to their heritage. Just some of Martha and Angel’s wedding details included, handmade crocheted doilies which hung in every nook and cranny of the barn, personalized pendants on all of the bridesmaids bouquets, an a garter that Martha handmade herself to hold her lipstick and a pack of smokes.
Martha and her bridesmaids all wore cowboy boots to fit along with the barn wedding theme and Angel and his guys were sporting suits that looked like they were plucked from the Old West. In their invitations they included dried, pressed flowers and then used dried flowers again after the ceremony. All of their guests were handed a basket filled with dried flowers and Martha and Angel then had a grand exit hand in hand as husband and wife as their guests showered them with the dried flower petals.
Another personal touch was that both Martha and Angel’s wedding bands had inscriptions on the inside that read “Come what may” which I thought was super sweet. And I came to find out that they have matching tattoos that also read “Come What May.” Angel’ had his suit lining custom made for him with a skull and rose pattern. He surprised Martha during their first look when he revealed it to her and she loved it.
When it came to the reception space their space did not lack detail or personality. Each table had a different centerpiece on it with an array of hand picked organic flowers from a local farm called Little Big Farm. The arrangements were chosen for their rustic colors placed in vintage containers and teapots. Everywhere you looked there were framed photos of Martha and Angel throughout the years. They were really cute and it made the space more about them and invited their guests to take a peek into their relationship. Some of the photos were also from their E-session which I loved seeing on display on their wedding day.
Their cake topper was one of the best details! It was a brushed bronze cake topper of a bride on a horse leaning down to kiss the groom. The groom on the topper was even wearing the same style hat that Angel wore for the wedding. The topper reminded me of a shot we took on their engagement session where Martha is leaning down from a train car to kiss her man.
As you can imagine, these are just a small fraction of the details and DIY projects that went into Martha and Angel’s wedding day. There are so many more you can see in the photos.
Our Limelight entertainment team was there to get the party started after the ceremony. Martha and Angel’s reception included an array of performances. First, Martha’s mother sang a song to welcome guests to the reception and then Martha and Angel and the rest of their band performed. They had rehearsed a few songs prior to the wedding day and performed them for their family and friends. Then they each sang a song to each other right before their first dance together as husband and wife. Their first dance song was “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros which was really sweet and they had so much fun with it. Halfway through the song they started grabbing guests and pulling them onto the dance floor and got everyone to join in on the fun.
Limelight Entertainment also provided their photo booth which guests took advantage of and we used an old barn door as the backdrop. This made the images look like they fit right in with the wedding day.
We cannot thank Martha and Angel enough for choosing us to be a part of their #LimelightWedding. Many many blessings to you both! xoxo
