Shanette and Keith wanted to take their engagement photos somewhere that offered a lot of variety. They knew they wanted beach photos and a park like setting. They also wanted to involve their adored and beloved pitbull baby, Vince. Spring Lake was the perfect location for them! We were able to take photos with Vince around the lake and then we headed to the beach for sunset. It was perfect!
- How did you and your fiancé meet?
“I was walking to work and Keith was standing at a parking meter looking for change for a $1.00 to put in the meter. As I was walking pass Keith he stopped me to see if I could give him change. So I stopped and gave him change. This was on January 23, 2012. We were on Somerset St. in New Brunswick, NJ. Seven years later we are still going strong.”
- How did your fiancé propose?
“It’s nothing romantic but I went on a cruise with my kids in 2017. We were gone for about 1 week. Keith was home in the house nice and quiet and alone. When we arrived home Keith was so happy to see us. He said he really missed me and he never wants me to go away again without him. So right after that he asked me would I be his wife. Then we went ring shopping.”
- What is something that the two of you are most excited about for your wedding day?
“Keith and I are big on family, so we can’t wait to celebrate this special day with our family and friends. We have so many people that have been waiting for this day to come. And also we like to dance, so the reception is the highlight for us.”
- Describe your wardrobe and accessories that you chose for your engagement session. What inspired your choices?
“We chose clothes we would be comfortable in. We didn’t wanna get to fancy so we went with causal. We also switched into our football Jerseys for a little fun. Keith is from Philadelphia and is a huge Eagles fan and I’m a NY Giants fan. It gets pretty interesting in my home at football season.”
- If you’re bringing props or pups to your engagement session, what inspired you for the shoot?
“We brought our 2 year old fur baby. Vince is a pit bull terrier that we love so dearly. He is part of the family. We know we can’t have him at the wedding so we didn’t want him to feel left out.”
