Jen and Dan’s engagement session at Asbury Park was super cute!! Asbury Park is a great location for engagement photography. The boardwalk has a ton of unique murals from local artists. Then there’s Convention Hall and the beach with the jetty. So much visual interest!
We started the session with a few cutesy twirly photos on the boardwalk, right in front of Convention Hall. Jen wore an adorable, short red dress that she paired with white sandals. Dan had on dark blue denim jeans and a baby blue button-down dress shirt. We walked through Convention Hall chatting about their wedding and stopping to take a bride and groom masked photo. After a couple of mural shots, we went straight to the beach to take silly and romantic photographs.
How did your fiance propose?
“On June 12, 2020- My nephew Gavin Facetimed me asking if I wanted to go to the beach with him to build sandcastles. This was something we did often but it was a decoy on this particular day :). On our way to the beach, Danny played some romantic music and even played a voicemail he had saved from early on in our relationship. We went to Seven Presidents, where we spent so much time together playing volleyball and just have such happy memories there. He brought me down to the ocean and proposed right by these beautiful rocks. The group of people nearby all started cheering and applauding! Danny had been in communication with Caitlin and Colleen who were watching from afar. The two of them had secretly set up a beach picnic by the dunes. One of our favorite songs, “Better Together” by Jack Johnson was playing and there were rose’ champagne and a cheese plate. We popped the champagne and celebrated our engagement! Then Colleen and Caitlin surprised me by running toward the picnic blanket while cheering! Shortly after, my parents, brother, and nephews joined as well. Gavin and I didn’t build sandcastles that day but we did play a fun game of Duck, Duck, Goose with the family :)”
What is something that the two of you are most excited about for your wedding day?
“I am excited about almost every moment of our wedding day. I am looking forward to getting ready with my bridesmaids and Mom, enjoying a mimosa or two! I am looking forward to seeing my nephews and soon to be nieces and nephew as they get all dressed up! I am excited to walk down the aisle and say our vows. I am excited about our first dance! And to hear the best man and maid of honor speech! But mostly I am excited to celebrate and dance with family and friends at the reception! I want the day to be filled with love, happiness, and joy! “
