This late October date was a day to remember. Surrounded by friends and family, Megan and Derek tied the knot at The English Manor. This beautifully maintained venue features colorful flowers, a little cottage, a wooden bridge, a cozy bench swing, and tons of greenery.
How did they meet?
Megan and Derek met at Monmouth University through a mutual friend. “We would cross paths regularly, and there was always a spark of electricity in the air every time we would make eye contact, talk, and eventually hang out.” – shared Megan. They started dating in February that year, and 8.5 years later, they’re getting married!!
What do you two like to do together?
“As long as we are spending time together, we enjoy ourselves. We love trying new foods and going out to eat. Many of our favorite things to do are involved being outdoors. We love spending time at the beach, fishing, and stand-up paddleboarding together. We also enjoy taking nice walks in the woods and seeing wildlife. Just staying in and watching one of our many favorite tv shows is also a great time for us.”
The big day!
Megan’s girls were in deep maroon-colored floor-length dresses and held the most gorgeous bouquets designed by The Flower Bar of The Flower Bar. Many pretty fall colors – golden sunflowers, deep burgundy, green, and ivory florals filled their perfect bouquets. Valerie of NJ Glam styled and glammed Megan and her girls up! From half-up, half-down to fully updos, the girls looked incredible. Megan’s Stella York wedding gown was definitely something to talk about. Her pure white laced wedding gown looked stunning! It was so pretty with the deep lace neckline and layered bottom. Derek had on a blue Generation Tux tuxedo and brown suede dress shoes. He complimented the girls’ maroon dresses with a maroon-colored tie. His four groomsmen had on matching blue tuxedos and brown suede dress shoes. Everyone looked so handsome!
What are you two most excited about for your wedding day?
“We are both most excited about getting to share the most important day of our lives together with our family and friends.”
A little rain did not stop these two from getting married outside. The English Manor had the perfect outdoor ceremony setup for Megan and Derek. After the ceremony, we headed to cocktail hour to celebrate the marriage between the beautiful duo. The food was excellent, and everyone was chatting among one another as Megan and Derek made their way around the room. At the reception, Chris Marino of Limelight Entertainment kept the party going all night long as their loved ones danced the night away to the greatest hits.
