Jamie and Chris said their I DO’s at the historically beautiful Updike Farm in Princeton at the Battlefield/Stony Brook Settlement in the Historic District. This 1892 farmhouse is nestled on six acres of picturesque preserved farmland, perfect for your photography, ceremonies, and other special events. The structures include a farmhouse, a large barn, a windmill, a garden, and several outbuildings. Updike Farm is the perfect all-on-site venue space for couples looking for an elegant, rustic, and country vibe for their wedding day. Jamie and Chris made this space their own magical bohemian aesthetic, giving it a true summer boho barn wedding vibe!
Pro tip:
If you want photos of your dress with your bridesmaids’ {bridesmen} formal wear, please have them ready and out of the bags, steamed, and hung up on hangers! If you have personalized hangers, use them right away to hang up any formalwear so your photographer can easily access and shoot the shot before everyone begins to get dressed!
Neutral shackets were the perfect look for getting ready to celebrate the big day! We loved this getting ready look.
Jamie looked incredible in her Madewithlove Bridal dress. The lace detailing and train were one of our favorites! “I LOVED my wedding dress. It was everything I’d always pictured myself wearing. The lace was very romantic, and I loved that it wasn’t completely white. The blush undertones fitted the wedding day aesthetic.” – Jamie spoke on her wedding dress.
“Both my husband and I were most excited to do our first look. It was raining hard, and we still managed to pull it off perfectly.”
Rain or shine! Nothing stopped these lovebirds from having their first look on this gorgeous path. Their wedding party cheered as they watched from the sidelines in awe.
This sweet couple took inspiration from Etsy to get ideas for their wedding day. Fernandsunpalm, on Etsy designed and created the perfect dried florals!
Are you thinking about doing dried flowers for your wedding day? We vote yes! “The florals for the wedding were preserved pampas grass bouquets. What’s great about these bouquets is that you can keep them forever! I currently have my wedding bouquet in a vase that will stay preserved forever.”
Nothing beats a Jos. A. Bank navy suit with brown suede dress shoes. Chris looked amazing!
Rain or shine, Dana Haines had Jamie’s hair styled perfectly for her wedding day! Jamie’s beachy waves held strong through the damp weather and she looked gorgeous all day long. Dana also stayed for a hair touchup just before the wedding ceremony. Nothing beats having such a talented sister 😉
It’s all in the details!
“We wanted to let the barn stand out on its own. So, we used minimal, rustic decor to fill the space. We used natural dried pampas grass for the ceremony and on the tables for the reception. My dad hand-built our wedding arch for the ceremony. We added a special personal touch of our initials on the front of the wood using a wood burner. The arch currently sits in our backyard! We used amber glass bottles and simple wood decorations for the table. Overall, we wanted to keep decor to a minimum because the barn is so beautiful on its own.” – Jamie talked about her details and personal touches to her and Chris’ wedding space at Updike Farm.
Jamie:
“We carved our initials and date right before the ceremony! It was a last-minute touch.”
“One of my favorite parts of the wedding was doing a ceremonial “first pitch.” My husband is a baseball coach, so we thought doing a first pitch to open up the dance floor was very appropriate. We had our whole bridal party sign the baseball, and our wedding guests sign a baseball bat as our guest book.” – Jamie
Jamie and Chris included their little fur-baby Clifford in their wedding day celebrations. Their South Carolina rescue wore a beautiful neutral flower collar and was really in theme at the party.
Eye-spy little Clifford amongst their wedding reception decorations!
“A piece of advice for couples on their wedding day: sometime during the reception, you and your significant other should take a moment alone away from everybody to take everything in and enjoy the moment!”
– Jamie and Chris
Spinners Entertainment, Owls&Lions really took to the dancefloor and got everyone moving and grooving to some really great music!
Updike Farm has the perfect scenery for your wedding day photography. We just had to snag a couple romantic shots of Jamie and Chris here!

Absolutely creative and delicious! Jammin’ Crepes made the perfect wedding crepe cake for Jamie and Chris’ barnyard wedding.
After capturing this wedding we all agreed that this wedding deserved to be in print and in an heirloom album. During an in-office album design, we perfected their dream wedding album. A few weeks later, they both went home with a 12×12 wedding album wrapped in a beige Italian leather. The color of the leather fit perfectly with the warm summer boho vibes of this NJ wedding. They even took it home in a one-of-a-kind Prestige Wooden Album Box they personalized in-office with us! We are SO EXCITED for them and the many years they will have with this beauty and looking back on their wedding day.
“Our wedding day was the best day ever!!”
