Looking for Photo Booths?

Ad 3-2Photo booths add fun and personality to your wedding or other special event. If you have started looking for a photo booth, you have probably been surprised to see the huge range of prices for photo booth options. If you are not a “techie” you may wonder why some are so much more expensive than others, because they are all basically a camera and some type of background. Don’t let those cheap companies fool you! There are actually big differences in what different companies advertise as “photo booths” and those differences can have a major impact on your guests’ experience and the quality of the pictures you get back from the photo booth.

Even if Limelight is not your choice for NJ Photo booth rental, before making a decision based on price, here are some things you should consider:

  1. What type of camera is being used? Is the company going with a webcam or a DSLR camera? Camera quality is probably the greatest predictor of picture quality, so make sure the photo booth uses a quality camera.
  2. Does the price include a booth attendant? No one wants equipment failures, but they do happen with even the best maintained, top-of-the-line machinery. Does the company provide a booth attendant to help your guests with photos and to ensure that the booth runs smoothly for your entire event?
  3. What about props? Props can play a fun role in the photo booth experience. Does your company offer props? If so, have you been given a chance to look over their props to ensure that they are clean and functional?
  4. What is included in the quoted price? Many lowball quotes do not include things that seemingly more expensive companies consider standard for NJ photo booths. Make sure you understand if the quoted price includes photos, a memory book, a digital copy of the photographs, etc.
  5. How long will the photo booth run? Most photo booths run for a specific time; you don’t want an hour long photo booth in a five hour party. How many hours do you get for the quoted price, is it possible for you to extend the time during the party, and, if so, what will you pay for additional time?
  6. How big is the booth? While very traditional photo booths can only accommodate two or three people, when it comes to photo booths for parties, bigger is better. This is especially important for wedding photo booths. Does the photobooth operator have a booth that will accommodate large groups?
  7. What is the crop on the photos? Horizontal and vertical crops result in very different pictures. What type of crop does the photobooth have and is it possible to change the crop for different pictures?
  8. Print and image quality. Ask for actual samples of their photos so you can see what you will be getting. Also, make sure that the images are high resolution images, so that you can enlarge those photos without losing quality.
