Rainy days won’t bring down our weddings! Allison and Ray had a wonderful winter wedding celebration at The Mill Lakeside Manor! Although it rained on their wedding day, they took this as a sign of good luck for the next exciting chapter in their love story.
Blues, navy, golds, and green… we love the color scheme they chose for their wedding day!! They went with an elegant, timeless feel, and the theme was overall bright and refreshing.
- Talk to your photographer about having separate transportation for the two of you! It will make the day run smoothly and no one is waiting around to head to your ceremony, venue, or first look location.
Allison and Ray held their wedding ceremony at The Bay Head Chapel with Father David blessing and officiating them in matrimony. They kept their ceremony very traditional with the first look being down the aisle. Luckily, they thought this through and made sure to add extra time in between the ceremony and cocktail hour for pictures! We captured amazing romantic portraits of the two of them, all their family formals, and their wedding party all before cocktail hour.

Tell us your Proposal Story!!
“We were in the Outer Banks, NC on a family vacation and Ray originally planned to propose Sunday, the second day, but the rain had other plans. He sneakily got everyone together and decided to propose Saturday the first day of vacation. We went to take pictures on the beach right before sunset, and I was told it was for my sisters’ pregnancy announcement, but the pictures were really for our proposal!” – Allison gushed.
Bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses and groomsmen wore charcoal gray suits. They complemented with white and green flowers that included pops of blue snapdragons.
After their wedding, Allison and Ray designed a beautiful 25-spread album with their photographer. It was gorgeous! It included pieces and moments from their wedding day.
- We recommend you invest in your dream wedding album. You will not regret it! (;
They incorporated golds throughout their wedding: centerpiece stands, a welcome sign, and picture frames. Allison and Ray wanted everything to be bright since their wedding was in December and during this season it gets dark earlier.
Allison and Ray had candles of different heights on their reception tables to add light, which created a very romantic atmosphere!
Allison’s father gave a sentimental yet humorous toast to the bride and groom. It was great! He made sure to have props and crowd participation. Definitely one of the best speeches we’ve heard!!
We loved the speech Allison’s dad gave! It was hilarious and he got the guests involved too!
- If you have anything special during your reception be sure to let your photographer and DJ know, to ensure we are there to capture the moment and make sure it happens.
If you are debating whether to include time for a night shot – we vote YES!
